Jul 31, 2025 Western Colorado University Hosts NNMC Students for a Trades Culture Bootcamp Four Northern New Mexico College trades students made us shine during a Trades Culture Bootcamp at Western Colorado University! Luka Torrez, George Lopez, Mario Perez and Edwardo Martinez got the opportunity to practice the skills they have been learning in Northern’s Electrical Technology program as well as new construction techniques helping to build a solar powered gazebo that will let WCU students study outdoors in comfort.

Vellanoweth, PhD, as its new Provost and VP for Academic Affairs. “Dr. Vellanoweth brings over two decades of experience in higher education, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, securing external funding, and championing initiatives that uplift student success. His work as a coastal and island archaeologist has further distinguished him, to include international research collaborations, extensive publications, and a steadfast commitment to mentorship,” said NNMC President Hector Balderas.

Trujillo Memorial Foundation donates $50,000 for Endowment Scholarship On May 17, 2025, Ben Trujillo, president of the Dr. Karen M Trujillo Memorial Foundation, presented a $50,000 check to The Northern Foundation. The donation establishes a new endowed scholarship for Northern New Mexico College students seeking an educational degree called the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Memorial Scholarship Fund.
